Arts Council and Artsmark have recently launched the Cultural Education Network. If you’re a teacher, work at a creative and cultural organisation, or are a freelance teaching artist, the Cultural Education Network is here to support you.

We are here to provide you with ideas, actions and opportunities to help you develop your practice in cultural education. The Network now offers free one-to-one advice sessions delivered by a team of Cultural Education Specialists. Our Specialists can help you overcome barriers of time, knowledge, networks or skills. Our goal is to improve access to professional development opportunities, signpost to existing offers and add value where it is most needed.

in three age categories:

Sherlock Holmes has a thrilling new case to solve this June, thanks to the pioneering cast of Blue Apple Theatre—an award-winning UK company recognised nationally and internationally for championing learning-disabled talent and innovation in inclusive arts. This production reimagines the classic detective story, pushing the boundaries of inclusive arts and offering a vibrant, engaging experience for all audiences.

UK Shared Prosperity Funding Winchester City Cou

UK Shared Prosperity Funding

Winchester City Council has been awarded a further £327,000 under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and £223,500 under the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) following the UK Government’s decision to extend both funds for an extra year. Through the funds, tourism and creative organisations can apply for between £25,000 and £50,000, with commercial businesses required to match-fund their projects.

In the last three years, the city council has used the funding to support 60 projects that are helping to make a lasting impact on the health, economy and look of the district. Some of the projects that have already been supported include a new Kiln for ceramicist Melanie Legge, development and delivery of the Winchester Creative Growth Programme, a dust extractor for stonemason Will Davies, a volunteer programme at local museums, new interpretation panels for the Nunnaminster historic site, portable modular staging at Wickham Community Centre, and a scheme to support festival development and partnerships.

Businesses and not-for-profit organisations can now apply for UKSPF grants until 25 May and until REPF funding until 11 June 2025.

In 2025, people across the world are celebrating the birthday of Hampshire author Jane Austen, who was born 250 years ago. Jane had many friends and often wrote about friendship in her novels. Inspired by Jane, her life and the stories she wrote, you are invited to explore the theme of ‘Friendship’ – we want to read about what friendship and your friends mean to you.

Write a poem of no more than 14 lines on this theme and send it to us for a chance to be one of the winning poets announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday 11 October 2025, at The Arc, Winchester as part of Winchester Poetry Festival

Hampshire Cultural Education Partnership are planning to join a nationwide initiative in celebrating Discover Creative Careers Week. A reminder of the week 17 - 23 November 2025. We are hosting a meeting to plan our offer on Wed 23 April, 3.30pm - 5pm at:

Hampshire Music Service, Unit 1 Bar End Industrial Estate, Bar End Road, Winchester SO23 9NR

There is VERY limited parking on site, you can however park on the industrial park if there is space, in the Vineyard Church (as long as they do not have their event parking sign on display), in the leisure centre or at St Catherine's Park and Ride.

This meeting is open to all those who may be interested in including an event in the week in November, so please feel free to invite those who would like to attend. ALL WELCOME.

Plot Lines - Free Workshop - Waterlooville Library

Led by artists and writers, and using the power of storytelling and words to connect people, Plot Lines is a community arts programme which aims to gather, listen to and share stories and anecdotes from living in and near Waterlooville.

There will be free workshops and events from April 2025 and informal opportunities to meet with the Plot Lines writer in residence Aoife Mannix who is keen to chat with local residents about their experiences of moving to the area, their feelings about home, their memories, and dreams for the future.

First workshop: A Taste of Home
5 April 2025, 10–12pm, Waterlooville Library

A creative workshop with Aoife Mannix where you are invited to share your favourite memories and meals of home. Drop by at any point to this session where you can fill in a card to write or draw what you most love to eat at home or tell us about one thing from home which holds the most meaning for you. You can also simply pop down to say hello to Aoife and learn more about the project. This is a free event with no booking necessary.
